Pantel to launch three Android phones, starting INR 7,000

Pantel Technologies has revealed that it is jumping in the ultra-competitive smartphone market in India. The company will be releasing three Android phones initially, which will go on sale next month.

According to a report in PTI, these phones will be priced between INR 7,000 and INR 15,000. Company managing director Vjiender Singh told PTI that these smartphones will be launched in the second week of June.

Pantel, the company best known for its Android tablets – most of which come in partnership with state-run telecom operator BSNL – started its operations in March 2012 in the country. It is hoping to sell 50,000 to 60,000 phones every month.

The company has stated that the upcoming Android phones will pack 3G connectivity, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and at-least 1GHz processor. Pantel will also be releasing a 4G device later this year, but nothing is known about that right now.
