Quad Core version of Micromax Canvas II A110 in the offing

The phone will get 1.2Ghz quad core processor from Mediatek and an upgraded Android 4.2 but rest of the specification is likely to remain the same as Micromax Canvas II A110.

Micromax is working on a upgraded version of the very popular Micromax Canvas II A110, the new version dubbed Canvas A110Q will get same quad core processor as the Canvas HD clocked at 1.2Ghz and coupled with 1GB RAM.

According to leak by Droidextra the phone will be based on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean which is again a upgrade. However display will be the same as A110 (dual core version) a 5 inch display with 854x480 (FWVGA) resolution are the same.

We have seen a similar launch yesterday, where Celkon launched its Signature Q119 HD with same specs as the dual core version A119.

Going by that logic, the phone will get 8 megapixel camera at the back and VGA unit in the front, and 2000 mAH battery, it will for sure get Bluetooth 4.1 version instead of the 3.0 version in A110 as the chipset the A110Q will use comes with the latest bluetooth version.

The design of the phone is also likely to remain the same, and price difference is also going to remain minimal as the chipset cost is smaller part of the overall phone. We expect the phone to launch in June and will be priced almost the same as Canvas II A110 at around Rs 10,000 (may be they will charge a premium of Rs 1000).

The only issue that we see in this new phone is that apart from the difference in display resolution there is hardly any difference between Canvas A110Q and Canvas HD A116.
