Spice Smart Flo Ivory Mi-450 launched for Rs 5,999

The 2G only phone is the cheapest 4.5 inch phone in the market currently. Android 4.0 powered phone runs on 1GHz dual core processor and 512 MB RAM.

Spice has launched another large display 2G only smartphone, Smart Flo Ivory Mi-450, priced at Rs 5,999.

Apart from lack of 3G connectivity the phone gets very decent specification including 1 GHz dual core processor and 512 MB RAM and a 4.5 inch display with 854 x 480 pixel resolution which is high for this size of display.

Spice Smart Flo Ivory Mi 450 comes with 3.2 megapixel camera at the back and VGA front camera. Other features include 1,500 mAh battery, A-GPS, and memory expansion to 32 GB via microSD card.

The phone comes with NQ Mobile security solution with 6 months free subscription. Mi 450 is the second phone in the Smart Flo series with first one being 5 inch Smart Flo Pace 2 priced at Rs 6,999.

Indian companies like Micromax and Spice have been trying to reduce the price of large screen smartphones by introducing various combination like 2G only and smaller camera. Also, as a result of this move they are trying to address the consumers who are interested only in large screen and don't use 3G or don't use camera much.

The dual core processor coupled with 512MB RAM is good enough specification to offer decent performance to the phone. Display is also good with resolution on the higher side. However battery at 1,500 mAH looks slightly under powered. Android 4.1 Jelly bean should have been a better choice for OS too.
