Bluestacks today announced its second Android gaming console in the form of GamePop Mini, which will be joining the already unveiled GamePop. According to Bluestacks, GamePop Mini will be free for life with $7 per-month subscription fee (needs a minimum of 12 months subscription).
Bluestacks notes that the subscription gives access to several premium gaming titles from over 500 game developers. Like GamePop console, Mini will also come with Looking Glass technology, which brings support for iOS games on this Android console.
Similar to the bigger cousin, Mini’s specifications are still a mystery but the company did note that GamePop Mini will feature Jelly Bean Android 4.2 and HDMI out.
“The biggest value of the GamePop service is its content – not the box. Hardware costs have come down so fast that we’re able to undercut the rest of the market. With the free promotion we’ve been doing in June we’re already seeing a ton of adoption. That volume then attracts more developers and therefore more and better content. It is building momentum,” said BlueStacks CEO, Rosen Sharma.
The company is yet to reveal the exact release date but the console will be available on pre-order from July 1.
