Everyday Timeline: Record a Complete Private Journal [iOS]

Keeping a private journal helps many of us. It is comforting to record our thoughts in a diary at the end of the day and keep a record of our updates and emotions. This way we can look back on the past more easily and quickly check dates of important happenings. But physical diaries come not only with a simple section to record thoughts but also sections for a calendar and noting down events. Thus any journal application for your smartphone that aims to replace the physical diary should include these extra sections as well.

Everyday Timeline is a journal application for your smartphone that lets you record not only thoughts and events, but a lot more too.

Everyday Timeline is a free to use smartphone application for iOS devices. The application is compatible with iPod Touch, iPhone, and iPad devices that are running version 4.3 or later of iOS. In its most basic form, this application acts as a private journal that lets you keep a record of your thoughts and updates. To keep things private you can set a password for the application. Updates can be imported from other accounts such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Foursquare.

To ensure that your diary’s entries and updates are not lost, you can schedule a weekly backup with your Evernote or DropBox accounts. The built-in calendar lets you search and organize events.

Apart from these features, the app lets you add photos and videos with your journal entries. Your posts can also be tagged to make it easier to find them according to category. A special feature called “Blast from the past” shows you your entries from a year ago. You can also track your mood graphs through the app by keeping a regular log of your moods.
