ZTE, which has so far been selling dongles branded with operator logo, plans to enter both mobile as well as dongle market.
ZTE has announced plans to launch dongles (Data Cards) in Indian market by mid-June. The dongles will be sold under ZTE Swift brand name and will initially include two models.
ZTE SWIFT plus will offer 14.4 Mbps download speed while SWIFT will support 7.2 Mbps download speed. ZTE recently also announced plans to foray into Indian smartphone market with five smartphones.
ZTE has second largest market share in Indian data card (dongle) market, but it only sells its dongles branded with operator logo and in some cases it also sells through Indian handset brands branding.
To sell the data cards ZTE plans to use national distributors, channel partners and online medium.
