RCom slashes 3G data prices to 2G levels

It can be availed by both prepaid and postpaid users of RCom.

Intensifying data war, Reliance Communication has announced a steep tariff cut in its 3G data prices, bringing it to that level of 2G.

Now the operator is offering 1 GB of 3G data for Rs 123 while you can get 2 GB data for Rs 246. For 4 GB of 3G data, you have to spend just Rs 492.

It can be availed by both prepaid and postpaid users of RCom. Further, existing 2G data users of RCom will automatically be migrated to 3G as the tariffs have gone down.

"RCom will not though shut down its 2G services as many handsets in the market still are 2G only," Gurdeep Singh, president and chief executive officer, wireless, RCom, said.

To attract 3G users of other service providers, RCom has also now announced an attractive offer. If you migrate to RCom (using MNP facility), you can get 1 GB of 3G data each month for free for two months.
