Videocon launches A24 budget Android phone for INR 4,699

Videocon Mobiles has announced the launch of a new Android smartphone in the Indian market today. Dubbed as Videocon A24, the phone will go on sale in the country for INR 4,699.

Despite carrying a budget pricing, A24 comes with some decent specifications. It packs Android 4.2, 4-inch WVGA display, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, and 1450 mAh battery. Other specifications of the device include 3.2MP rear camera, VGA front camera and dual-SIM support with dual-standby.

The only downside to the phone is the RAM, which is only 256MB and we are not really sure if Android 4.2 will run fine on such meager amount of RAM.

“The Videocon A24 brings in an easy to use yet efficient smartphone experience to consumers who might be looking for their first smartphone. A simple and intuitive layout engages the consumers with the device and brings to them various vistas which help them to make the most of their Android smartphone experience,” said Khalid Zamir, Head Product Planning & Development, Videocon Mobile Phones Division.
