ZTE Geek U988S touted as world's 1st smartphone with Nvidia Tegra 4

ZTE is planning to soon introduce first Android smartphone running Nvidia Tegra 4 mobile processor.

Almost half of the year is over and we are yet to see the first smartphone touting the quad-core Nvidia Tegra 4 mobile processor. However now Engadget claims to have spotted an upcoming ZTE Geek U988S smartphone with Tegra 4 in China's Telecommunication Equipment's Certification website.

The new ZTE Geek U988S is said to have a 5-inch display with full 1080p HD resolution. Under the chassis, the Geek phone will have 1.8 GHz quad-core Nvidia Tegra 4 mobile processor and 2 GB RAM.

The surprising part is the 8 megapixel camera compared to the 13 megapixel image sensors being used in other Android based large screen devices. In the front will be a 2 megapixel camera. The listed model was limited to China Mobile network only but we assume there would be a world edition model too.

By default, the ZTE Geek U988S smartphone will run Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean update.
