Press shots of China-bound Samsung SCH-W789 Android flip-phone leaked

Looks like Samsung is building not one but two Android flip phones with numeric keypad. We had told you guys about Samsung Galaxy Folder SHV-E400K aka Galaxy Golden previously and now details about Samsung SCH-W789 has appeared online. Code-named Hennessy, the smartphone will be released on China Telecom.

According to a report in Sammy Hub, which has just received some press shots of Hennessy, the smartphone will support both CDMA and GSM networks. It will also come with 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 5MP camera with LED flash, microSD card slot and Android 4.1.

The main difference between Galaxy Golden and Hennessy is the size of the dual-displays on-board. Hennessy comes with 3.3-inch HVGA displays, while Galaxy Golden has 3.67-inch WVGA displays on-board. To remind you, Samsung Galaxy Golden is currently rumoured to be arriving on Korea telecom operators KT and SKT.

These might not be the first Android flip-phone from Samsung but the sudden interest by the company in clamshell devices is surprising. There is surely a market for consumers who like numeric keyboards on their devices and coupled with the power of Android, such smartphones can surely carve out a niche segment for them.
