Xolo hints at upcoming "Slim" phone launch, teasers appear on Facebook page

Smartphone manufacturer Xolo has now started teasing about an upcoming smartphone with images popping up on its Facebook page. The teaser images strongly point to the company officially revealing its next smartphone in the not-so-distant future.

The images suggest that Xolo’s upcoming offering will sport a sleek design. Thrown in are taglines like “Ready to switch to Slim” and “Flaunt the power of Slim Coming soon”.  The company has, on its Facebook page, said that ‘the wait will soon be over”. This again points to an announcement being around the corner. Exact details are missing, unfortunately.

There is not much revealed about the smartphone from the images, though. The only noticeable features include a rear camera sticking out of the smartphone next to an LED flash, and the bottom of the rear panel featuring a speaker grill.

While there is nothing officially out yet about the smartphone, fonearena reports that the phone being hinted at may be called the Q1000S. The phone, according to the report, could be 6.88 mm thick and may come with a quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz. The dimensions seem to match the "Slim" tag of the Xolo-hinted smartphone. Additional features expected include a 13 megapixel primary camera and a 5 megapixel front shooter. The phone may also come with a 5-inch HD display, similar to what is seen on the Q1000. Whether this is the same phone that Xolo is talking about remains to be seen.

There has been no official word on the price tag being planned for this smartphone. The report, though, speculates that the upcoming Xolo phone might be positioned to compete with the Micromax Canvas 4 and sport a possible price ranging from Rs 16,000 to Rs 17,000.

One of the recent Xolo launches this month was the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean-running A500S, coming with a price tag of Rs 6,999. The phone comes with reasonable specifications for the price range, including a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and 512MB of RAM. The smartphone comes with a 4-inch TFT display with a resolution ratio of 800 x 480 pixels. Thrown in are a 5 megapixel primary camera and a VGA secondary one. The A500S also comes with 4GB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card slot.
