Android KitKat contest goes live, winners get Nexus 7 tablets and Play Store credit

Earlier this week, Google took everyone by surprise by announcing its latest Android 4.4 KitKat (earlier called Key Lime Pie) version. Now, to kick off the new partnership between the chocolate makers and Google, a new contest is being run. Around 1000 lucky winners will be able to take home Google's 2-13 Nexus 7 tablets. This isn’t all, around 1,50,000 winners will get $5 Google Play Store credit. Lastly, 20,000 winners will get free bags of KitKat mini bars.

This contest which requires one to look for specific KitKat packages that carry the Android mascot is being run by Hershey in the US. Each pack contains a special code which you have to enter at the Google KitKat page. And you could win one of the goodies.

The contest is marketed as “Take a break, win a prize.” If you are one of those diet-conscious people who would like to participate without gulping down too much of the sweet stuff, then there's an option for you too. One can also enter the contest without purchasing a Kitkat. To do so, one has to send a 3 x 5-inch card with his/her full name, address, city, state, zip code, date of birth and email address to: Android / KIT KAT Instant Win Game Code Request, P.O. Box 760023, El Paso, TX 88576-0023. Game Codes will be emailed to the email address listed in the request.
