Motorola working a new Android tablet: Report

Motorola is reportedly making a new Android tablet. There are no details about it right now but Motorola CEO Dennis Woodside did confirm its existence to Engadget.

“That’s [tablet] something we are working on, but [there's] nothing specific to talk about right now,” Woodside told Engadget. It would be interesting to see which screen-size the company chooses for its next tablet as almost all the tablets from Motorola till now have been 10-inchers (8.2-inch Xyboard being an exception), so it is probably time for Motorola to enter the seven-inch segment as well.

To remind you, Motorola launched its first tablet – Xoom, back in 2011 with Android 3.0 on-board, which was the first tablet optimized Android version. The company has since launched Xoom 2, Xoom Family Edition, and Motorola Xyboard(s).

Engadget also notes that it is possible that Motorola could release a phablet variant of Moto X in the future as Woodside said that his company plans to explore other form factors that incorporate “some of the design cues, as well as technologies, from the Moto X.”
