The latest round of reports coming from a Google Launchpad event suggest that the search giant might unveil the next version of Android and the Nexus 4 successor in just a matter of days. There is no obvious way to verify these claims but the timeline does not look all that surprising.
Google could very well announce Android 4.4 Kitkat and Nexus 5 on October 15, while the actual availability of Nexus 5 might be deferred by a fortnight to around October 31, as earlier rumoured.
As October 15 is just five days away, we don’t have to wait longer and everything will become clear soon enough.
As per previous reports, Android 4.4 Kitkat is expected to bring various changes but it won’t be a huge revamp. On the Nexus 5, the phone is reportedly coming with 4.95-inch IPS full HD display, Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16/ 32GB of storage, NFC and wireless charging support.
