Google and HP have announced the launch of a new Chromebook today. Packing an 11.6-inch-inch display, the device is simply dubbed as HP Chromebook 11.
The new Chromebook comes with an IPS display with 1366x768p resolution, dual-core Samsung Exynos 5250 processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. It is the first Chromebook to feature microUSB battery charging port, so you can use most of your Android smartphone chargers to power the device.
“Designed and built in partnership with our friends at HP, it has all of the speed, simplicity and security benefits you’d expect from a Chromebook, and some unique design elements that address many of the challenges people face with computers today,” noted Caesar Sengupta, VP, Product Management at Google in a blog post.
HP Chromebook 11 features:

A full size keyboard and trackpad
A webcam and two USB 2.0 ports
Dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0
Magnesium chassis for strength

According to HP, The new Chromebook 11 has been priced at $279.99 for the Wi-Fi only version. It can be purchased from select retailers in US and UK beginning today in the white with blue colour accents. The Chromebook is also being sold at Google Play, which is offering the most colour options.
In addition, HPshopping.com will starting selling it from October 16. This is not all, the company has also revealed that it will be launching LTE version of the device later this year.
Coming to availability outside US and UK, according to Google, countries where Chromebooks are currently on sale will be getting HP Chromebook 11 sometime before the end of 2013.
In related news, HP has also stated that earlier announced Chromebook 14 will be available at select retailers in the U.S. this week in Wi-Fi only and LTE versions. It has been priced starting $299.99. The Chromebook14 is expected to be available in the U.S. on hpshopping.com on November 10.
