Nokia launches Lumia 1520 & 1320 phablets; 3 Asha phones

Both Lumia 1520 and 1320 come with 6 inch screens. Nokia has also announced Asha 500, Asha 502 and Asha 503 handsets.

Nokia, which today announced its first tablet called Lumia 2520, has also announced two more smartphones under its Lumia range - namely Lumia 1520 and Lumia 1320. Besides, Nokia has also announced three new Asha series handsets - Asha 500, 502, & 503.

Nokia Lumia 1520 comes with a 6 inch display. The ClearBlack technology based IPS-LCD display has full HD resolution. The phablet has quad core 2.2 GHz Snapdragon 800 processor, 20 megapixel Pureview rear camera with dual LED flash, 3400 mAh battery promising25 hours of talktime, 2 GB RAM, 32 GB internal memory, and 64 GB of expandable storage slot.

Besides, Nokia Lumia 1520 has Windows Phone 8 operating system, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, NFC, and a USB 2.0 slot. The nano SIM bearing phablet weighs 209 grams. The Nokia Lumia 1520 will be available in yellow, white, black and glossy red. It is expected to start shipping in Q4 2013, with an estimated price of $749 or Rs 46,000 approximately before taxes and subsidies in Hong Kong, Singapore, the USA, China, the UK, France, Germany, Finland and other European markets. Nokia though has not mentioned India but it has said that the phone will be launched in other markets later.

The Lumia 1320 too comes with a 6 inch display but with HD resolution. This 220 grams weighing phablet has a 3400 mAh battery promising 25 hours of talktime, 1.7 GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB inbuilt memory, 64 GB expandable storage slot, 7 GB free cloud storage, Windows Phone 8 operating system, and a 5 megapixel rear camera. It has also a secondary VGA camera.

The Nokia Lumia 1320 will be available in orange, yellow, white, and black and is expected to start shipping in Q1 2014 with an estimated price of $339 or Rs 20,000 approximately before taxes and subsidies in China and Vietnam, followed by other Asian markets, India and Europe.

New Asha smartphones:

Nokia has also announced Asha 500, Asha 502 and Asha 503 handsets. Of the three, Asha 503 is a 3G enabled handsets and comes with a 5 megapixel camera and dual SIM connectivity. The three handsets will be available in bright red, bright green, yellow, cyan, white and black, and are planned to start shipping in Q4 2013.

The Nokia Asha 500 features a 2.8-inch screen, 2 megapixel camera and comes in single SIM and Easy Swap Dual SIM variants. It is expected to be available in Africa, Asia-Pacific, Nokia Asha 502Europe, Latin America and the Middle East for $69 or Rs 4,300 approximately.

The Nokia Asha 502 features a 3-inch screen, a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash and Easy Swap Dual-SIM. It is priced at $89 or Rs 5,500 approximately for Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe and Middle East.

The Nokia Asha 503 features 3.5G connectivity, a 3-inch screen, 5MP camera with LED flash, Corning Gorilla Glass 2 and comes in single SIM and Easy Swap Dual SIM variants. The estimated price before taxes or subsidies is USD99 in Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East.
