Goodbye Winmap

Once a popular media player, Winamp is now nearing its demise. The player will not be available after December 20, reads a note on the Winamp website.  While AOL, the current owner of Wimamp, has not released any official statement, the note on the Winamp website seems pretty clear.

Here is the full note:

Winamp.com and associated web services will no longer be available past December 20, 2013. Additionally, Winamp Media players will no longer be available for download. Please download the latest version before that date. See release notes for latest improvements to this last release.  Thanks for supporting the Winamp community for over 15 years.

As you can see there is no direct mention of the fate of the Winamp Android version, but it looks like even Android version will be killed.

If you love Winamp, you can download Winamp before the December 20 and keep using as long as you like but you won’t be getting any support or receive any future updates.
