Google Nexus 5 official, now available in Google Play for $349

Google today unveiled its fifth Nexus smartphone in the form of LG-built Nexus 5.  Thanks to a flood of leaks in the last few weeks; we already knew almost everything about the smartphone and finally, it is official.

Today’s Nexus 5 announcement was also accompanied by the release of Android 4.4 KitKat, which brings a host of changes and new features to Android and we will talking about them in detail in another report.

Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, Google Nexus 5 features a 4.95-inch IPS full HD display. It runs on Android 4.4 and packs 8MP rear camera with optical image stabilisation, 1.3MP front camera, 2GB of RAM and 16/ 32GB of internal storage. There is expandable storage support. Pricing & Availability

According to Google, Nexus 5 is now available in United States, Canada, U.K., Australia, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Japan and Korea for $349 (16GB) and $399 (32GB). It will be released in India soon. You can now grab the smartphone from your country-specific Google Play stores.

“Just in the time for the holidays, Nexus 5 will be available soon at the following retailers: Sprint, T-Mobile, Amazon, Best Buy and RadioShack,” Google noted in a blog post.
