Samsung stated at its first analyst day in eight years that it plans to bring the first fully-foldable devices to consumers sometime tin 2015. The company has not revealed any other details but Samsung is focussing quite a bit of foldable displays and their use in smart devices.
Samsung CEO Kwon Oh-hyun noted at the Analyst day that his company is putting a lot of energy into the five new form factors – phablets, curved phones, wearable devices, flexible phones, foldable phones.
To remind you, Samsung recently launched a curved-screen smartphone Galaxy Round in South Korea, which although features a flexible display but is not a flexible smartphone. The company is hoping to perfect the technology to create flexible or folding smartphones in the next two years.
