Indian telecom operator Idea Cellular has announced the launch of a new smartphone in its ID line-up. Dubbed as ID 4000, the smartphone comes with dual-SIM support and will go on sale in 11 telecom circles, where Idea offers 3G services.
As per a press release issued by the company, Idea ID 4000 features a 4-inch HVGA display, 1GHz dual-core processor, 3.2MP rear camera and 3G support. The phone runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and packs 512MB of RAM, 512MB of on-board storage, microSD card slot and 1500 mAh battery. There is no front camera on the phone.
“Our strategy of proliferating data services through the sale of affordable 3G smartphones has worked well for us, and hence we will continue to build on our devices portfolio. A large base of Indian consumers want affordable, yet, feature rich smartphones to experience 3G and mobile internet. !d 4000 will address this demand in the market and enable 2G users to upgrade to 3G in our key 3G markets,” said Sashi Shankar, Chief Marketing Officer, Idea Cellular.
Pricing: The smartphone has been priced at INR 4,999 and can be grabbed from Idea stores and major retailers.
Offer: Like other Idea 3G smartphones, ID 4000 buyers will also be getting 1.6GB of 3G data and Idea TV for 3 months with a special recharge of INR 259 (INR 261 for new subscribers).
