Moto G5 Plus With Snapdragon 625 SoC and 12MP Rear Camera Launched in India; Prices Start at Rs. 14,999


Lenovo announced the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus at the MWC 2017 event in Barcelona, Spain last month. After teasing the smartphone for a while, the company has now launched the bigger sibling Moto G5 Plus in India starting at a price tag of Rs. 14,999. That said, Lenovo hasn’t changed the specs of the phone, and it features the same specs as the international variant.

The Moto G5 Plus is priced at Rs. 14,999 for the 3GB of RAM and 16GB storage variant and costs Rs. 16,999 for the 4GB of RAM and 32GB storage variant.

The Lenovo Moto G5 Plus will be exclusively sold via e-commerce site Flipkart starting today. Flipkart also has announced a new ‘Buyback Guarantee’ program, where the company is offering a fixed discount of Rs.7000 for the customers who purchases a Moto G5 Plus and wants to exchange it with another phone in the next six to eight months. So, if you want to a get a phone of Rs. 20,000 in the future, you can head over to Flipkart and choose the phone and get a flat Rs. 12,001 discount if you exchange the phone with a new one.

In terms of specifications, the Moto G5 Plus comes with a 5.2-inch Full HD screen and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC, which also powers the Moto Z Play priced at Rs. 24,999. The prowess of Snapdragon 625 is its battery efficient capabilities. The G5 Plus comes in two RAM variants- 3GB/4GB of RAM and is paired with 16GB/32GB internal storage. The storage on the Moto G5 Plus is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. The phone comes with connectivity options such as 4G LTE, VoLTE, NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, and a GPS chip.

The Moto G5 Plus uses the same 12MP camera sensor that of Samsung Galaxy S7 and the company claims the camera as ‘the most advanced’ by Motorola. The rear camera also has dual-LED flash, f/1.7 aperture, and can also record 4K video recording. The Moto G5 Plus comes with a 5MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.

The Moto G5 Plus comes laden with Android 7.0 Nougat along with Google Assistant preinstalled. The phone has a 3000mAh non-removable battery with support for the TurboCharge technology. Motorola promises a six-hour battery life in just 15 minutes of charge. Along with the Snapdragon 625 SoC, the phone is expected to deliver insane battery life.

Asus ZenFone 3s Max With 5000mAh Battery, 4G VoLTE, Nougat Launched In India For Rs. 14999


ASUS has finally made ZenFone 3 Max’s successor – the ZenFone 3s Max (ZC521TL) official in India. The main USP of the ZenFone 3s Max smartphone is its 5000mAh battery, which is touted by ASUS to last for three days on regular use.

Regarding specifications, the ZenFone 3s Max (ZC521TL) features a 5.2-inch HD IPS 2.5D curved display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The phone comes powered by a 64-bit 1.5 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6750 processor with Mali T860 GPU and 3GB of RAM. There is 32GB internal storage onboard, which can be further expanded up to 2TB via microSD card. Thankfully, the phone comes running Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box with ASUS’s in-house ZenUI 3.0 skin on top.

In the imaging department, the ZenFone 3s Max sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, PDAF and an 8-megapixel front snapper. It also features a fingerprint sensor on the front. The device supports connectivity options such as Hybrid Dual-SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 3.5mm audio, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and a 5-magnet speaker. The phone bears a metal unibody design.

For pricing and availability, the ASUS Zenfone 3s Max will retail exclusively on Flipkart for Rs. 14,999. It will go on sale from today and will be up for sale in Black and Gold color options. ASUS will also be selling it through offline channels all across the country.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Launched in India


Xiaomi has finally launched the Redmi Note 4 in India. The device has been launched in three variants – 2GB RAM/32GB storage, 3GB RAM/32GB storage, and 4GB RAM/64GB storage.

Specifications:

Redmi Note 4 comes with a 5.5-inch full HD 1080p screen 2.5D curved glass display. It is powered by a 14nm octa-core Snapdragon 625 chipset clubbed with Adreno 506 GPU in contrast to hexa-core Snapdragon 650 processor that powered the Redmi Note 3. The internal storage on all the three variants is further expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. In the imaging department, the Redmi Note 4 sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, PDAF  along with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Similar to the Redmi Note 3, this one also comes in a metal body design.

Apart from that, the Redmi Note 4 supports Hybrid Dual SIM (Micro SIM + Nano SIM/microSD), 4G VoLTE,Dual band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/c/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS, and Infrared sensor. The fingerprint sensor on the phone is placed at the back. The Redmi Note 4 runs MIUI 8 based Android 6.0 Marshmallow. A 4100mAh battery with fast charging backs the smartphone, which is touted by Xiaomi to deliver 25% more battery than its predecessor – the Redmi Note 3. The phone measures 151x76x8.45mm and weighs 175 grams

Pricing and Availability:

The 2GB RAM/32GB storage variant is priced at Rs. 9,999, 3GB RAM/32GB storage variant at Rs. 10,999 while the 4GB RAM/64GB storage variant will cost Rs. 12,999. The Redmi Note 4 will be exclusively up for sale via Flipkart, starting from January 23, 12 PM IST. It will initially be available in Gold and Dark Gray color options. The Matte Black color variant will go on sale soon.
